Bridging the Gap – what is the purpose of developing cultural activities in places that are not intended for this?
More and more often, cultural activities reach beyond the walls of institutions, from which they originate, and enter into the urban space. Organisers open up to random public, yet at the same time they get to places which are normally inaccessible, abandoned or atypical to create new quality basing on both the idea and the contexts of the space that they enter. What is the purpose of such actions and what new do they bring? In what way does culture carry out its mission through this type of activities? Why widening the field of culture with these new forms is so important? During this meeting we will discuss new form of organising, looking for places, as well as purposes that guide them.
